REUNION: MMSU-UHS BATCH ‘87
3 – Day Event (concept by Fely M.)
The Concept
3-day event with each day containing an element of continuum through the very last day.
First Day
-starts with registration of batch members for an hour or two
-members[1] will then proceed to ribbon cutting of the donation to the school or community (this can be moved to the last day if preferred) followed by a light snack
-batch will then move to the medical mission – either in the community or institution
-lunch will be served late, catered, in a garden/picnic setting around 2pm, with cocktails to end the day around 4pm
The Donation - can be made by solicitation or contribution
- Computer center (or any other suggestions) in the
school/community (library)
- Tie-up/solicit with companies such as CISCO, Intel or HP (for the
computer center concept); or tap members with connections to
companies who can donate suggested equipment, etc.
- Solicitation activities will need to be done 6-months or more prior to
the 3-day event
The Medical Mission - the batch can either select a community/institution where to
hold this; or, batch can set up in a certain place and invite a certain
group (a defined audience) so that anybody can go there for
medical attention
- Equipment and supplies needed can be obtained through
solicitation and/or contribution. Pharmaceutical/medical companies
can be tapped. Members connected with these organizations can be
tapped
- Planning for this will need to be done 3-6 months prior to the
3-day event
Second Day
Choice of –
Beach Party
- Starts in the morning; attendees to be grouped in 10’s; each group will be assigned
a leader accountable for the group.
- Lunch will be served buffet style
- Sports activities will be offered; participation a must by all attendees
Fund-raising activity
- Bingo and/or raffle drawing; or
- Drive in movie – can be set up at the MMSU oval of the front of the UHS.
Invites only so that no one can drive in without buying tickets first. or
- Concert
i. Dinner concert for 50-100 guests (for example a plate can cost 1 – 3K). harder
to sell but easier to manage.
ii. Public concert (event organizer needed; must be conceptualized and approved
3-6 months before the 3-day event)
- Tiangge style ala Family Style Fair Day
Booths can be set up for the day for several activities like:
i. Face painting
ii. Food- barbecues/empanada/miki/etc.
iii. Trinkets and accessories
iv. Small “perya” games (without the big rides)
v. Main event is active family feud type
Families interested will have to register for games such as tug of
war, tumbang preso, patintero, etc.
Third Day – Culminating Activity
Ball/Gala
- can be a semi-formal type; or
- a masquerade type; or
- themed type (for example ala graduation type wherein the students award the
teachers, need not be serious, like funny memories or scenes in classes can be
turned into an award category and so on).
- dinner will be served (buffet style with a bar on the side for drinks)
- a video presentation will be played during dinner (pictures/videos of the batch,
throughout high school days and the last two days of the reunion can be shown)
- band can be hired for good music/dancing
